Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

I am recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in West Lothian.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to join a busy production environment, working as part of an established engineering team to ensure machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance, with experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.

The Role:

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, motors, drives, sensors and control systems.
• Maintain and repair mechanical components, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps and pneumatic systems.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and ensure machinery is returned to operation safely and efficiently.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and improvements to equipment reliability.
• Work closely with production teams to support operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all work complies with health and safety procedures.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications and engineering projects when required.

About You:

• Time-served apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Previous experience working as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, production or FMCG environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience maintaining automated production machinery.
• Knowledge of PLC fault finding, motors, inverters and electrical control systems.
• Good understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance.
• Willingness to work a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern covering days/backs/nights.
